Off Grid Remote Sleeping Cabin
The Robert Johnston Memorial Cabin is set quite a distance back on a hilltop behind the ranch campground and buildings. This off-grid DRY cabin was created for those who aren't afraid to 'rough-it' a little. There is no running water, no a/c and no kitchen area.
Electricity is provided by small generator with a limited gas capacity. Cabin guest will need to be able to turn the generator on and off. Because of the remote location and the need to show new cabin guests how and where things are, we respectfully request that your arrival time be early enough that we can get you settled before dark.
Those who book the cabin should plan to bring their own bedding for the 2 twin beds. For for those staying with more than 2 adults, please plan to bring air mattresses, bedding and/or sleeping bags. There are two 12x12 sleeping lofts in the cabin that are carpeted and padded.
A fire ring is provided for your use and all cooking should be done outside of the cabin over the campfire using your outdoor cookware. Firewood is normally available for your use at the campground behind spots # 3 and #4. Please do not burn any trash in the fire ring, including plates, plastic wear and pop cans or bottles.
To enjoy the cabin, guest should plan to use their own personal vehicles to travel between the ranch campground and the cabin area. Public use showers and restrooms are located up at the stall barn. The path to and from the cabin is a dirt/grass roadway and in times of heavy rain, becomes quite muddy. There is a 'outhouse"/restroom with a luggable loo inside. This is a kitty litter/sawdust disposable bag potty. Users are required to remove their own double bagged contents and deposit it in the red dumpster across from the playground upon checking out.
Supervised, well behaved dogs are allowed in the cabin. Dogs should never be left unattended in the cabin. During times of your absence, all pets should be crated. Please bring a crate for your house pets. Guests are responsible for picking after their pets inside the cabin yard.
No horses are allowed within the yard fence of the cabin. A small round pen is available for up to 2 horses. You may bring your own portable electric fence to setup outside the mowed perimeter of the cabin yard.
Please note that due to the gate system, trailers larger than 16 foot may not be able to be taken back to the cabin and should be parked up at the ranch campground.
Guests are financially liable for any and all damages by 2 and 4 legged members of their party.
